Weimin Tang
Artistic Director
Mr.
Weimin Tang graduated from Shanghai Dance School in
1988, specializing in ethnic dance. He was the
principal dancer with Shanghai Opera Theater Dance
Troupe from 1988 to 1998. Mr. Tang also studied Art
Administration at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and
graduated in 2001. He managed the art operations at
Shanghai People’s Art Institute and is now serving
as the Artistic Director and Operations Manager at
Lujianping Dance & Arts.
Mr. Weimin Tang has enjoyed an extensive career in
Chinese Dance as a performer and manager.
As a dance performer, he was the principal dancer in
many large-scale Chinese dance productions such as
Wu Yue Chun Qiu, Tai Yang Bu Luo, and Silk Road
Flower Rains. Mr. Tang received artistic awards
from Chinese Ministry of Culture, such as
“Outstanding Performance Award” in the first Chinese
National Dance Drama Competition in 1992 and “Dance
Merit Award” for performing “The Spring of Shanghai”
in 1993.
Since 1997 Mr. Tang began focusing on
planning, directing, and managing dance
productions.
As a dance art manager, he has been deeply involved
in various large-scale Chinese national, and
international dance & arts productions. Mr. Tang
was the Assistant Director, Artistic Director and
Manager in events such as “The Opening Ceremony of
Chinese National Athletic Competition” in 1997,
International Art Festival in 1998, 1999, 2000, and
“The Opening Ceremony of Chinese National Athletic
Competition for the Disabled” in 2000.
Because of his dedication and talent in dance &
arts, Mr. Tang received Bronze Medal from Chinese
Ministry of Culture in 2001. In year 2000, Mr. Tang
was awarded “Shanghai Youth Art Star” from the City
of Shanghai.
汤伟敏，毕业于上海舞蹈学校民族舞蹈专业和上海交通大学文化艺术事业管理专业，曾任上海歌剧院舞剧团主要演员、上海市群众艺术馆主要业务馆员，现为陆建萍舞蹈艺术中心总监。
汤伟敏曾在上海歌剧院制作的大型民族舞剧《吴越春秋》、《太阳部落》和汉云艺林制作的大型民族舞剧精品《丝路花雨》中任男主角，并荣获中国文化部颁发的全国第一届舞剧汇演“优秀表演奖”、上海之春“优秀舞蹈表演奖”等殊荣。
1997年起，汤伟敏开始转向节目策划、导演、编导和艺术管理工作。曾多次在国际性、全国性的重大文艺表演中担任总导演助理、导演、编导及舞台监督，如全国运动会开幕式、全国农民运动会开幕式、全国残疾人运动会开幕式、国际艺术节、国际音乐节、国际电视节、国际旅游节等，并受到政府的记功与奖励。汤伟敏创作的舞蹈曾获得上海十月歌会舞蹈比赛“最佳创作奖”、“最佳表演奖”和中国文化部颁发的全国群星奖“铜奖”。由于汤伟敏出色的成绩和表现，2000年被授予由上海市政府颁发的“上海青年群艺之星”荣誉称号。
